Students earning work-study, service-learners and volunteers all have different requirements. There are some parts of the job, however, that are universally required. These are:

- Working the entire shift helping or playing with the Farragut students
- Attending mandatory trainings scheduled by the Scott/Ross Center
- Communicating any necessary absences with the facilitators and coordinators
- Maintaining an enthusiastic and encouraging attitude while working with students
